Ethel Willetta Comer, 83, of Webster Groves, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, following a brief illness.
She was born in Johnson County, Ill., daughter of William F. and Rose Etta Comer of Cape Girardeau.
She attended schools in Jefferson City, Mo., and Cape Girardeau. She was a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, and received an advanced degree from Peabody College in Nashville, Tenn.

Friends were important throughout her life. She was a friend. And she will be missed by her associates with whom she taught, by her friends of more than 50 years in her bridge club, and by all those whose lives she has touched.
She was the sister of the late William Comer of Oran, Mo.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, 45 W. Lockwood Avenue.
Gerber Chapel in Webster Groves is in charge of arrangements.
