ETHEL BECHEL

Funeral service for Ethel E. Bechel of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel, with the Rev. William Matzat officiating. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Bechel, 97, died Monday, June 3, 1996, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born April 2, 1899, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of William and Relda Moore Rhodes. She and Albert J. Bechel were married in 1916 in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death.

Bechel had worked at Florsheim Shoe Co., and was a member of First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include a son, Willard Bechel of Cape Girardeau; a grandchild; five great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and sister.
