Esther Hahs-Sapienza

Esther "Boots" Hahs-Sapienza, 91, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, in Mesa. She was born July 20, 1921, in Cape Girardeau to John and Pauline Busch. Esther "Boots" Hahs-Sapienza, 91, of Mesa, Ariz., passed away Monday, March 18, 2013, in Mesa.

She was born July 20, 1921, in Cape Girardeau to John and Pauline Busch.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Roy Hahs.

She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Grommon (Richard); three grandchildren, Rick (Becky), Travis (Ashley) and Brianne; and a great-grandson, Gage.

Boots also was preceded in death by her second husband, Thomas Sapienza.

She is survived by two stepdaughters, Alice Adams and Carol Flood (Tom); six step-grandchildren; and nine great-step-grandchildren. She also is survived by nieces Jean Jank and Ruth Harper (Don), and a nephew, Bill Busch (Fitz) of Cape Girardeau.

A funeral service will be Friday in Mesa.

Bunker University Chapel in Mesa is in charge of arrangements.
