Esther Louise Grim, 71, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 1998, at her home.

She was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Hibbing, Minn., daughter of Dr. Olav and Esther Larsen Birkland. She and Wayne Grim were married Oct. 14, 1965, in Upper Marlboro, Md.

Grim worked 14 years at Pacific Bell Telephone Co. in San Diego, Calif.

She grew up in Hibbing, and graduated from the University of Minnesota where she studied psychology and sociology. She had lived in San Diego and Washington, D.C. She had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1969.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jonathan Grim of Warrenton, Benjamin Grim of Parker, Colo.; a stepson, Jerry Grim of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Sandra Bullinger of Anaheim, Calif.; two grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

There is no visitation or service.

Burial will be Tuesday at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery in St. Louis.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
