COBDEN, Ill. -- Esther E. Bennett, 70, of Cobden, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at her home in Cobden. She was born Jan. 14, 1936, in Alto Pass, Ill., the daughter of Aubrey and Lydia Berry Hickman. She and Henry Bennett were married in June 1962. He died in June 1999...

COBDEN, Ill. -- Esther E. Bennett, 70, of Cobden, died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2006, at her home in Cobden.

She was born Jan. 14, 1936, in Alto Pass, Ill., the daughter of Aubrey and Lydia Berry Hickman. She and Henry Bennett were married in June 1962. He died in June 1999.

Survivors include four sons, Richard Bennett, Jeff Bennett, David Bennett and Dan Bennett, all of Cobden; two daughters, Marilyn Vernon of Anna, Ill., and Valerie Spurlock of Cobden; two brothers, Donald Hickam of Pomona, Ill., Willard Hickam of Alto Pass; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
