Esther Adams

Esther E. Adams, 93, formerly of Jackson, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 17, 1911 at Marble Hill, Mo., daughter of Oscar T. and Nellie Pierce Welch. She and Charles A. Adams were married May 6, 1930, in Clarksville, Mo. He died Feb. 12, 1998.

Adams was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson and St. Ann's Sodality.

She worked in the electronics field in Gardena, Calif., retiring in 1987 and moving to Jackson.

Survivors include a brother, Ray Welch of Redding, Calif.; and a sister, Lorene Howard of Chesterfield, Mo.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson, four brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Monsignor Edward Eftink officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville, Mo.
