SIKESTON, Mo. -- Estelle Lane Cathey, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Sikeston, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at Bertrand Nursing Facility in Bertrand, Mo. She was born June 7, 1912, at Lilbourn, Mo., daughter of Sam and Ollie Lee Griffin Lane. She and David O'Kelley Cathey were married June 18, 1938, at Caruthersville, Mo. He died Jan. 29, 1984...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Estelle Lane Cathey, 90, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., formerly of Sikeston, died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, at Bertrand Nursing Facility in Bertrand, Mo.

She was born June 7, 1912, at Lilbourn, Mo., daughter of Sam and Ollie Lee Griffin Lane. She and David O'Kelley Cathey were married June 18, 1938, at Caruthersville, Mo. He died Jan. 29, 1984.

Cathey worked many years at Bank of New Madrid. She was a member of House of Prayer Independent Baptist Church in Grant City, Mo.

Survivors include a son, David Cathey of Poplar Bluff; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bob Burnes officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
