SIKESTON -- Essie Lowery, 89, died Wednesday, April 3, 1996, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born July 16, 1906, in Phil Campbell, Ala., daughter of William and Lucy Ann McMurray. She married Bluford Lowery, who died April 19, 1976.
Survivors include two sons, James Lowery of Harrah, Okla., Jerry Lowery of O'Fallon; five daughters, Syble McCalmon of Mukilteo, Wash., Joyce Yowell of Cloverdale, Ind., Charlene Lunte and Ann Wilson of Maryland Heights, Eva McIntyre of Sikeston.; 20 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son.
Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Keith Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Mounds Park Cemetery at Lilbourn.
