Ervin A. Frank Jr., 88, of Cape Girardeau died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Cape Girardeau County, to Ervin F. and Alma Schaefer Franck. He and Lucille Slinkard were married Jan. 6, 1944, in Liberal, Kan.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.
Mr. Frank was a carpenter with Crites and Sailer Construction in Cape Girardeau and in 1968 started with Harris Enterprises.
He was a lifelong member of Hanover Lutheran Church, where he did a lot of the woodwork, and was a former member of the Dramatic Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Frank of Cape Girardeau; five sisters, Ruby Moore of San Antonio, Geraldine Mehrle of St. Louis, Shirley Josey of Scott City, Ruth Farrow and Ella Sinn of Cape Girardeau; a niece, Clodine Metje of Cape Girardeau; a nephew, Don Wachter of Mesa, Ariz.; and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, William (Bill) Franck; two sisters, Dorothy Haupt and Betty Schweer.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel, and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Hanover Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Tony Kobak and Vicar Nate Wollenberg officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park, with full military honors by Missouri Honors Team.
Memorial contributions may be given to Hanover Lutheran Church Building Fund.
