Ernest O. Reimann, 107, of Egypt Mills passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

Ernest O. Reimann, 107, of Egypt Mills passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Dec. 24, 1906, in Egypt Mills, to Charles and Dorothy Gerlach Reimann Sr. He and Lillian L. Lowes were married Sept. 17, 1939, at Hanover Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. This past December they celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary. They were well recognized for their skill and love of dancing. As long as they were able, they attended local dances of all kinds.

Ernest was a lifelong farmer in Egypt Mills and a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Egypt Mills, where he was active on the former dartball team. He was a member of Nell Holcomb School Board when the school was reorganized into the Nell Holcomb School District, and he later drove a school bus for the district.

Loving survivors include his wife of 74 years, Lillian of Egypt Mills; two daughters, Janet (Julius) Philipps of Jackson and Sharon (Roger) Pierce of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Erma Bettlach of St. Louis; six grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Reimann in 2005; five brothers, Charles, Rudy, Fred, Walter and Ivan Reimann; and three sisters, Hulda Craig, Regina Lueder and Dorena Popp.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to service time Monday at Trinity Church in Egypt Mills.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Ernest's grandchildren: Steven Philipps, Sandra Barr, Carolyn Wood, Jennifer Bisher, Joan Windeknecht and June Craigmiles.

Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Cemetery Fund or the donor's choice of church or charity.
