DONGOLA, Ill. -- Ernest Penrod, 93, of Dongola, died Sunday, June 9, 1996, at City Care Center in Anna.
He was born May 19, 1903, in Dongola, son of Daniel and Ella Mowery Penrod. He and Roxie Lingle were married Dec. 24, 1947.
Penrod had farmed, and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rita Burnhart of Madison; a son, Paul Penrod of Dongola; a brother, Earl Penrod of Cypress; three sisters, Wilma Kesler and Louise Felts of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Nadine Huncke of St. Louis, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Lowell West officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
