Ernest Otte

Ernest J. Otte Sr., 59, of Rushville, Indiana, passed away Friday, Dec. 19, 2014, in Rushville.

Ernest was born June 7, 1955, in Casa Grande, Arizona, to Joseph V. and Diana M. Basler Otte. He was a 1973 graduate of Perryville, Missouri, High School. He married Sue Prifogle on May 30, 1998, and she survives.

Ernest was a master carpenter and a self-employed contractor, a member of the Community Emergency Response Team of Rush County for the past five years and a former member of the Rushville Kiwanis Club.

In addition to his wife, Sue, of Rushville, Ernest is survived by his father, Joseph V. Otte of Jackson; three brothers, Joseph A. Otte and wife Terri of Jackson, Donald J. Otte of Garland, Texas, and Ronald J. Otte of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Sue Bollem and husband John of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Ernest was preceded in death by his mother.

Services will be private at the family's convenience.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rushville Public Library Building Fund.
