PERRYVILLE -- Funeral mass for Ernest J. Basler of Perryville will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. J. Edward Wilson will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at Drayton Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. today.
Basler, 81 years old, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 1991, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Dec. 7, 1909, at Bloomsdale, son of Joseph and Louise Palmer Basler. He and the former Mary Grass were married Aug. 18, 1931, at Amelia. She died in September 1987.
Basler retired as a custodian at Hazelwood School District, and was a member of St. Vincent's Church here.
Survivors include two sons, James Basler of Imperial, Richard Basler of Bethalto, Ill.; two daughters, Diana Otte of St. Marys, Mary Williams of Oklahoma; two sisters, Elizabeth Naeger of Bloomsdale, Caroline Jones of Ste. Genevieve; 14 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
