ERNEST FUNKE

PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Ernest M. "Ernie" Funke, 80, of Perryville died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born March 10, 1920, at Longtown, Mo., son of Adolph and Clara Hacker Funke. He and Leola Leible were married July 31, 1948.

Funke retired as a salesman with Goldman's Clothing Store. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Longtown, American Legion Post 133 and VFW Post 4282.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Steve Funke of Washington, Mo.; a daughter, Jane Funke of Imperial, Mo.; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 8:30 to noon Saturday, and at Zion Lutheran Church after 12:30 p.m.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
