MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Ernest Marvin Eaker, 80, of Marble Hill died Monday, July 2, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 17, 1920, at Lutesville, Mo., son of Marvin W. and LouDella Francis Eaker. He married Wilma Stratton on Nov. 5, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. She died in 1983.
Eaker was a farmer and had owned Eaker's Market in Lutesville until the early 1980s. He attended Hahn Chapel General Baptist Church in Marble Hill.
Eaker had served in the Army in World War II, Pacific theater. He was a member of VFW Post 5900 in Marble Hill, Disabled American Veterans and Odd Fellows 385 Club.
Survivors include a son, Eddie Eaker of Marble Hill; two daughters, Donna Nenninger of Marble Hill and Diana Norwood of Mountain Home, Ark.; two sisters, Edith Woodfin and Ethel Statler, both of Marble Hill; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-stepgrandchildren.
Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. today at Hahn Chapel Church.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Hahn Chapel, with Vince Schreckenberg and the Revs. Gene Robbins and Gerald Huff officiating. Burial will follow at Bollinger County Memorial Park, with military honor guards.
