Ernest Cathcart, 96, of Millersville died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 5, 1907, in Jonesboro, Ill., son of Henry and Anna Tillman Cathcart. He and Ava Marie Rumfelt were married Dec. 30, 1931. She died March 11, 1995.
Cathcart farmed in the Neelys Landing area. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church at Pocahontas.
Survivors include a son, Don Cathcart of Villa Ridge, Mo.; five daughters, Mary Loos and Dorothy Schlegel of Jackson, Margie Stroder and Lena Johnston of Millersville, Betty Pickens of Marble Hill, Mo.; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son and two brothers.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
