Erma Jean Vaughan, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
She was born Sunday, Feb. 15, 1931, in Cottonwood Point, Missouri, to the late Guffrie W. and Gertrude McGee Malugen. She and William M. Vaughan Jr. were married Friday, March 31, 1967, at Sikeston, Missouri. He preceded her in death June 2, 2012.
She was of the Baptist faith. Erma was a beauty school instructor and homemaker and was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for several years.
Survivors include a daughter, Dianne (Larry) LaCroix of Cape Girardeau; son, Rick Venson of Tampa, Florida; stepsons, Gregory Vaughan of Red Oak, Texas, and Michael Vaughan of Virginia; stepdaughter, Anne Rene Patton of Virginia; four brothers, James M. (Carol) Malugen, Guffrie W. (Lucy) Malugen Jr., all of Charleston, Missouri, Wayne (Ginia) Malugen and Warren (Barbara) Malugen, all of Potosi, Missouri; grandchildren, Jason (Jaime) LaCroix of Florence, Kentucky, and Jeffrey (Tiffany) LaCroix of Christiansburg, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Landon LaCroix of Florence, Kentucky, and Gavin LaCroix of Christiansburg, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Johnny Malugen; and sister, Joan Blair.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at noon Monday at the funeral home, with Rev. James Malugen officiating. Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Charleston.
