JACKSON -- Erma Eakins, 91, of Jackson, died Saturday, Sept. 28, 1991, at Deal Nursing Home.
He was born June 28, 1900, at Burfordville, son of Fate and Nora Langston Eakins. He and the former Pansy Howard were married Aug. 17, 1921.
Eakins lived south of Burfordville until 1944, when he moved to his farm in the Whitewater community. In 1972, he moved to Jackson.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Coy Eakins of Burfordville, L.T. Eakins of St. Louis; two daughters, Gertrude Myers of O'Fallon, Mable Clardy of Jackson; 11 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral service will be today at 2 p.m. at McComb's Funeral Chapel, with the Revs. Rodney Travis and Cliffton Trentham officiating. Burial will be in Russel Heights Cemetery.
