Erline M. Agnew, 94, of St. Louis, formerly of Perryville, died Saturday, July 11, 1998, at Marillac Provincial House in St. Louis.
She was born June 5, 1905, at Perryville, daughter of Emmett Joseph and Mary A. Cissell Gagnepain.
She married Daniel F. Agnew Sr. on Nov. 5, 1924. He died Jan. 9, 1994.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and the Ladies of Charity.
She is survived by a son, the Rev. Francis Agnew of Sereno; two sisters, Sister Marie (Patricia) Agnew and Sister Mary Philip (Jane) Agnew, both of St. Louis; two brothers, Monroe Gagnepain of St. Louis and Woodrow Gagnepain of Perryville; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, two brothers, a sister and grandchild.
She will lie in state at Marillac Provincial House in St. Louis from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 6:30 to 9:20 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville, with a parish wake at 7 Monday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sereno, with the Rev. Francis Agnew officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
