Emma M. Strack, 88, of Lebanon, Ill., died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital in Breese, Ill.
She was born March 28, 1922, near Belleville, Ill., to William and Elizabeth Rochell Knoebel. She and Emil Strack were married Aug. 9, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church in Belleville.
Emma was a farming homemaker and worked many years as a practical nurse. She worked several years at Bohannon Nursing Home and did practical nursing for private individuals. She was a charter member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Lebanon and a member of the Ladies Aid.
She is survived by four children, Betty (Gregory Mueller) Strack of Highland Park, Ill., Ruth (Charles Hunze) Strack Hunze of Cape Girardeau, Lee and Larry Strack of Lebanon; a brother, John Knoebel Sr. of Belleville; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Elizabeth Knoebel; husband, Emil Strack; a sister, Wilma Kniepkamp; and a sister-in-law, Helen Knoebel.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at Meyer Funeral Home in Lebanon and from 10 a.m. to service time Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Brian Holle, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hanover Lutheran Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorials may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or Hanover Lutheran Church.
