Emma Louis Schlosser, 76, of Oran, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 3, 2006.
She was born March 10, 1930, to loving parents Ella Louise (Schwab) Job and Arthur J. Job of Cape Girardeau. She attended Campster Grade School and College High School in Cape Girardeau. She married Wesley Schlosser on Sept. 12, 1950.
Emma worked at Farmers & Merchants Bank and Deevers Real Estate in Cape Girardeau prior to having her first child. She then worked on the farm and cared for her family. She was a hard worker and was a wonderful example of how we should live our life on earth. She always put others lovingly before herself. She loved working on the farm, was an excellent gardener and loved every kind of flower. She devoted herself fully to caring for her husband, their six children and eight grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Wesley L. Schlosser, and their five children, Donna Walker (Riche) of Advance, Danny Schlosser (Kim) of Painton, Cathi Schlosser of Cape Girardeau, Connie McAnelly (Steve) of Oran and Douglas Schlosser (Kristi) of Oran. Her eight beautiful grandchildren, Christopher Walker of St. Louis, Sara and Matt Walker of Advance, Danielle and Stacey Schlosser of Painton, Todd McAnelly of Oran, Olivia and Riley Schlosser of Oran.
She is survived by two loving siblings and their spouses, one sister, Virginia Conley (Richard) of Cape Girardeau and one brother, Albert Job (Edna) of Cape Girardeau.
Additional family members are, two sisters-in-law, Betty Job of Cape Girardeau and Mary Kathlyn Job of Kelso; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Glenda Schlosser and Elmer Kenkel of Scott City; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vernon and Revella Schlosser of Scott City.
She has been greeted in Heaven by her son, Richard Schlosser, her parents, Arthur and Ella Job, mother and father-in-law, Ed and Ida Schlosser, two brothers, Paul and Clarence Job, one sister and brother-in-law, Edna and Albert Schabbing and one nephew, Ronald Conley.
She was a member of Guardian Angel Catholic Church of Oran and St. Ann's PCCW Sodality of Oran. She will be remembered as a thoughtful and caring person.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran and after 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Parish Prayers will be at 7 p.m. and the Knights of Columbus Rosary will be immediately following.
The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran with the Rev. John Harth officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to: Guardian Angel Catholic Church, Oran or Southeast Missouri Hospital Hospice.
