GOREVILLE, Ill. -- Emma Martin, 75, of Goreville died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, at Marion Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 23, 1922, in Lovelaceville, Ky., daughter of Arthur and Edith Morehead Meredith. She married Walter B. Martin.
Martin had been a cook at Meridian School. She was a member of Mounds Assembly of God Church. She was formerly of Mounds.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Walter Martin of Anna, Donald Martin of Tamms, James Martin of Herrin, Stephen Martin of Goreville; a daughter, Sherry Voigt of Mound City; a sister, Dorothy Axelson of Cairo; two brothers, T.J. Meredith of Mounds, James Meredith of Evansville, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, an infant daughter, a brother, and a sister.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms after 5 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Billy Don Heady officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery.
