Emma Mary Estes, 83, of Gordonville died Friday, Nov. 3, 2023, at her home.
She was born April 14, 1940, in Brownwood, Missouri, to William and Faye Edna Duba.
She and William J. Estes were married May 29, 1959. He preceded her in death in 2012.
Emma was a member of Cape First Church of Cape Girardeau. She had worked as a press operator at Thorngate Ltd. in Chaffee, Missouri. She had a major green thumb in gardening, especially for her tomatoes and cucumbers. She loved sewing and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Wayne (Joyce) Estes and William Joe Estes Jr., both of Gordonville; brother, Donald (Louise) Duba of Rye, Colorado; granddaughter, Stacy (T.J.) Smith of Jackson; two great-grandsons, Todd "Trace" Hamilton Smith III and Paxson Wayne Smith; and her dog, Mickey.
Emma was preceded in death by two sisters, Dean Duba and Ruth Duba; two brothers, Billy Duba and Clyde Duba; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at Ford and Son Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home, with Mark Graham officiating. Burial will follow at Morgan Memorial Cemetery in Advance, Missouri.
Memorial contributions may be given to Saint Francis Foundation.
