Emma Ray Cooper, 98, of Scott City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Greenfield, Arkansas, the daughter of Jasper and Dalia Harwood Ray. Emma and Ivan Cooper were united in marriage on July 12, 1941, in Brownwood, Missouri, and he preceded her in death May 6, 1968...

Emma Ray Cooper, 98, of Scott City passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Dec. 10, 1922, in Greenfield, Arkansas, the daughter of Jasper and Dalia Harwood Ray. Emma and Ivan Cooper were united in marriage on July 12, 1941, in Brownwood, Missouri, and he preceded her in death May 6, 1968.

Emma had been a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, baking and quilting. She had worked as a baker at IGA in Cape Girardeau for four years. She was a member of Scott City First Church.

Survivors include two sons, Larry (Welma) Cooper of Bloomfield, Missouri, and Esten Cooper of Kelso, Missouri; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; five great-stepgrandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and two great-great-stepgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, three sisters and a grandson.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance, Missouri.

A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at the chapel with the Revs. Larry Rouse and Dale Wiseman officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Point Cemetery near Bloomfield.
