OAK RIDGE -- Emma E. "Toots" Ahrens, 86, of Oak Ridge, died Monday, April 8, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 24, 1909, in Fredericktown, daughter of Frank and Emma Yoder Long. She and August H. Ahrens were married Dec. 9, 1934, in Cape Girardeau. He died May 24, 1989.
Ahrens was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Friedheim.
Survivors include two sons, George Ahrens of Oak Ridge, Robert Ahrens of Friedheim; three daughters, Mary Crites of Cape Girardeau, Inez Hobeck of Jackson, Virginia Girard of Oak Ridge; a brother, Bill Long of Jackson; 24 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; seven great-stepgrandchildren, and a great-great-stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by a son, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Wayne Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
