CAIRO, Ill. -- Elyvon Hafford Morehead, 84, of Cairo died Friday, July 2, 2004, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 24, 1920, in Louisiana, Mo., daughter of John and Effa Mae Johnson Tucker. She and Glenn Hafford were married July 4, 1940. He died Oct. 8, 1966. She later married Morris Morehead April 16, 1971.
Survivors include her husband; a son, John Hafford of Carterville, Ill.; a daughter, Susan Hafford Brown of Carterville; two stepdaughters, Morrissa Clanahan of Mound City, Ill., Ouida Haralambidis of Olive Branch, Ill.; a brother, John Tucker of Hampton, Va.; three sisters, Lois Nelms of Paducah, Ky., Avis Wirth of Houston, Texas, Thelma Kearney of Sun City, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and a stepgranddaughter.
She was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kelly Cox officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
