PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Elwin E. Hotop, 75, of Perryville died Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at his home.
He was born Dec. 23, 1932, in Perry County, son of Ervin and Olivia Welker Hotop. He and Joan Morrissey were married May 3, 1958, in St. Louis.
Hotop was a self-employed master carpenter. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Highland, Mo., Carpenters Union Local 2030, 3rd Degree member of Knights of Columbus, and Western Catholic Union.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Tammy Underwood of Perryville; a sister, Marie Pratte of Wentzville, Mo.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 6:30 to 9 a.m. Friday at Miller Family Funeral Home. Parish prayers with the Knights of Columbus will be at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Highland, with the Rev. Alphonse Hoernig officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with graveside military honors courtesy of American Legion Post 133.
