PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Elvira M. Lorenz, 85, of Farrar, Missouri, died Monday, July 30, 2018, at her home.
She was born Nov. 20, 1932, in Perryville, daughter of Theodore and Ella Sticht Oehlert. She and Leonard J. Lorenz were married Feb. 27, 1954. He preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1980.
Elvira had worked in geriatric nursing and home health for more than 40 years. For 18 years she was a state-approved day care provider, as well as an assistant postal worker at Farrar post office for 17 years. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid and LWML in Farrar.
Survivors include one daughter, Connie (Randy) Miesner of Frohna, Missouri; one son, Terry (Carol) Lorenz of Farrar; one daughter-in-law, Linda Lorenz-Miesner of Farrar; two sisters, Anna Mae (Edgar) Gerler of Gordonville and Esther Petzoldt of Jackson; one sister-in-law, Ruth Oehlert of Perryville; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Ronald Lorenz; one granddaughter, Sarah; two brothers, Rudolph and Raymond Oehlert; one sister-in-law, Mary Oehlert; and one brother-in-law, Vernon Petzoldt.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 6:30 to 8 a.m. Wednesday at Young and Sons Funeral Home.
She will then be taken to Salem Lutheran Church in Farrar for funeral at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Roger Abernathy officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials preferred to the Salem Lutheran Church or the Lutheran Hour.
