POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Elsie Dee Wethington, 86, of Poplar Bluff died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare South Campus.
She was born March 18, 1915, in McCrory, Ark., daughter of Charlie and Anna Belle Harp Johnson. She and Virgil Lawrence Wethington were married Sept. 17, 1932. He died Aug. 18, 1968.
Wethington lived in the Avert, Vinson and Clines Island, Mo., areas most of her life. She had lived in Poplar Bluff the past 27 years, and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Virgil Wethington of Poplar Bluff, Bert Wethington of St. Louis, Bill Wethington of High Ridge, Mo.; three daughters, Anna Bohrisch of Thayer, Mo., Charlene Klein of Bay, Mo., Judy Florida of Windsor, Mo.; a sister, Bernice Moyer of Poplar Bluff; 22 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, two sisters, and five brothers.
Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Mo., from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Doyle Corlew officiating. Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery near Essex, Mo.
