ORAN, Mo. -- Elsie Louise Walter, 81, of Oran died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at her home.

She was born July 6, 1936, in Helena, Montana, to the late John and Ione O'Brien. She married George J. Walter on Aug. 14, 1954, in Hernando, Mississippi, and he preceded her in death March 20, 1997.

Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, gigi, sister and friend. She wore many hats with a big heart and she loved all.

She is survived by two sons, Rick Walter of Oran and Kirby Walter of Elk Grove, Illinois; four daughters, Sherry Calabrese of Elmhurst, Illinois, Georgia Castaneda of Visalia, California, Michelle Vinyard of Benton, Missouri, and Penny Tucker of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers, John O'Brien of Montana, Patrick O' Brien of Oregon and Michael O'Brien of California; two sisters, Loretta Salazar and Dolly Donges, both of Montana; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces and loving friends.

She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph O'Brien, Joseph O'Brien and Danny O'Brien; and two sisters, Mary Miller and Joan Respondek.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran.

Funeral service will be at noon Saturday at the chapel, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Diabetes Association.
