Elsie Beatrice Medley, 93, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 12, 1907, in Jackson, Mo., daughter of Francis N. and Martha E. Shorter Medley.
She was a secretary for Cape County Milling Company from 1927 to 1952. She worked as secretary to the president of First National Bank from 1953 to 1972 and was a part-time secretary at St. Mary's Rectory from 1973 to 1980.
She was a member of St. Mary's Council of Catholic Women and had been a member of the Daughters of Isabella since 1948. She was the choir director and organist at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson for 25 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include two nephews, Gerald F. Venable of Jackson and Paul B. Medley of Tennessee; and a niece, Marti Strickland of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cathedral.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be at Jackson City Cemetery.
