JACKSON -- Elsa May Hickam, 82, of Jackson died Monday, Dec. 8, 1997, at Jackson Manor. She was born Sept. 16, 1915, near Jackson, daughter of James Lorenzo and Lillie Marie Yates Dow. She and Milford L. Hickam were married Sept. 16, 1935. He died Feb. 3, 1985...

JACKSON -- Elsa May Hickam, 82, of Jackson died Monday, Dec. 8, 1997, at Jackson Manor.

She was born Sept. 16, 1915, near Jackson, daughter of James Lorenzo and Lillie Marie Yates Dow. She and Milford L. Hickam were married Sept. 16, 1935. He died Feb. 3, 1985.

Hickam was a practical nurse, and assisted her mother-in-law in operating Hickam Nursing Home in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include two sons, James and Jon Hickam of Jackson; a daughter, Dorothy Hickam of Jackson; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers.

Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in Old Goshen Cemetery at Oak Ridge.
