SIKESTON -- Funeral service for Elmo Parrigin of Sikeston will be held at 2 p.m. today at Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home in Marion, Ill. The Rev. Kelley Grubbs will officiate, with burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery at Marion.
Friends may call at the Marion funeral home from 8 a.m. to service time.
Ponder Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Parrigin, 86, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 1997, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.
He was born July 26, 1910, in Marion, son of George and Emma Gunter Parrigin. He and Louise Rentfro were married Dec. 24, 1936.
Parrigin was a mail carrier many years. He and his wife were also photographers, retiring in the late 1970s. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marion.
He moved to Sikeston in 1994 and attended Murray Lane Baptist Church. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Toni Debo of Sikeston; a granddaughter; and a great-grandson.
