PERRYVILLE -- Elmer V. Monier, 72, of Perryville, died Thursday, June 11, 1992, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Perry County, son of Claude E. and Anna Huber Monier. He and Catherine Richardet were married July 27, 1940. She died June 5, 1988.
A retired carpenter, Monier was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church, and had been a member of Carpenter's Local 2030 27 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include five sons, Merlin, Dale, Raymond and Roger Monier of Perryville, Leon Monier of Owensville; three daughters, Virginia Johnson and Helen Figge of Perryville, Donna Weinrich of West Germany; two brothers, Norman Monier and Elvin "Hap" Moonier of Perryville; 21 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and a grandchild.
Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. today, and from 6:30-9:45 a.m. Monday. A parish wake will be held tonight at 7.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent's Church. The Rev. Charles Rice will officiate, with burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
