SCOTT CITY -- Elmer Dennis Ross, 81, of Scott City, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born June 22, 1917, at Fornfelt, the son of Ernest Jessie and Alma Hillemann Ross. He and Wilma Huter were married on Sept. 7, 1946, at Jackson.
Ross served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was an engineer for the Cotton Belt Railroad, retiring in 1979.
He was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City. He was also a member of the Scott City V.F.W. Post 6407. He was involved with the Retired Senior Citizens Program - Meals on Wheels.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mike Ross of Northbrook, Ill., and Doug Ross of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Hester McElmurry of Scott City; and four grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 - 8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Eisleben Lutheran Church. The Rev. Joel Sarrault will officiate, with burial in the Eisleben Lutheran Cemetery.
