AUGUSTA, Mo. -- Elmer Reed of Augusta passed away Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2019, at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur, Missouri, at the age of 74.
He was born April 6, 1944, in St. Clair, Missouri.
He was a carpenter.
Elmer was a member of Ebenezer United Church of Christ in Augusta and Carpenters Local 32 for 52 years.
He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed hunting and his beloved dog, Max.
Elmer cherished time spent with his granddaughters and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Marie (John) McLemore of Cape Girardeau; son, Matthew Dennis (Lisa) Reed of Augusta; four brothers, Darrell (Susan) Reed of Matson, Missouri, Jimmy (Lisa) Reed of Augusta, Robert (Phyllis) Reed of Warrenton, Missouri, and Dennis (Ann) Reed of Berger, Missouri; two sisters, Donna (Craig) Bond of Union, Missouri, and Peggy (Steve) Lohmeyer of Fulton, Missouri; and three granddaughters, Samantha Jo McLemore, Mikayla Marie Reed and Mia Rose Reed.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis George Reed; mother, Elsie Love Reed; spouse, Donna Mae Reed; and sister, Kathy Meyer.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Augusta City Cemetery.
