Elmer C. Guth, 79, of 2755 Gordonville Road died Saturday, Aug. 26, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Oct. 5, 1915, to Otto and Paula Fuehler Guth in St. Louis.
Guth married Helen Meier on Oct. 1, 1944, in Farrar.
Survivors include his wife, two sons; Charles Guth of Cape Girardeau and Nelson Guth of Sikeston; a brother, Vernon Guth of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; a sister, Wanda Eickhoff of Raleigh, N.C.; three grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; and a stepgreat-grandchild.
He was co-owner and operator of Guth Brothers Block & Brick until retiring in 1972 after 26 years of service.
Guth was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau, American Legion Post 158 in Jackson, Disabled American Veterans, T.P.A., and U.T.C.
He also was a U.S. Army-Air Force Veteran of World War II.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mount Auburn Chapel. Military service will be conducted by the American Legion Post 158 at 7.
Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Louis Launhardt officiating.
Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
