Ellen Watkins

BELL CITY, Mo. -- Ellen Stovall Watkins, 85, of Bell City passed away Monday, May 4, 2015, at Advance Nursing Center.

She was born Jan. 6, 1930, at Ardeola, Missouri, daughter of George and Sadie Smith Stovall. She and Winfred "Bill" Watkins Sr. were married in September 1947. He preceded her in death March 9, 2010.

Ellen was a member of Bell City United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star at Bell City. She was an avid gardener and loved to travel and dance.

Survivors include a son, Winfred "Butch" (Sue) Watkins Jr. of Marble Hill, Missouri; a daughter, Sandra (Dale Butts) Watkins of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Katie (Lonnie) Watkins of Essex, Missouri, Clara (Carl) Cockrell and Cleo Newton of Advance, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jessica Fontana, Jarrett Miller and Robbie Watkins; and four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Mara Fontana, Ava Watkins and Haley Tucker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time Thursday at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the chapel. Burial will be in Forrest Hills Memorial Gardens in Morley, Missouri.
