SCOTT CITY -- Ellen Virginia Martin, 83, Scott City Route 1, died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1993, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 24, 1910, near Illmo, daughter of Campbell and Ora Beatrice Raines Smith. She and Edward Joseph Martin were married Oct. 14, 1933, at Kelso.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Irvin Martin of Illiopolis, Ill., Gene Martin, Scott City Route 1; two daughters, Pearl Gowins of Huntsville, Ala., Shirley Beggs of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Dorris Smith, Scott City Route 1; 11 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, three grandchildren, and a stepgrandson.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. The Rev. William Dickey will officiate, with burial in Lightner Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. today.
