CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Ellade A. Reed, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Friday, Dec. 7, 1990 at her home, 1411 N. Water.
She was born April 9, 1908 at Whitewater, the daughter of John and Columbian Hayden Ervin.
On May 4, 1925, she married Glenn Reed at Cairo, Ill. He preceded her in death in January 1979.
She is survived by two sons, John Reed, Cape, Charles Reed of Jackson; five daughters, Thelma Brothers and Dorothy O'Neal, both of Cape Girardeau, Shirley VanDiver, Barnhart, Jean Ellen McKnight, Greenville, Tenn., Doris Cotner, St. Charles; 18 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
One daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
She lived most of her life in Cape Girardeau, where she was a member of Red Star Baptist Church. She belonged to the Ever Ready Sunday School class.
Funeral service will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel with the Rev. Cy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
