ORAN -- Funeral service for Ella R. Hall of Oran will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Oran, with the Revs. Jerry Williams and Jack Bishop officiating. Burial will be in Friend Cemetery.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran after 5 p.m. today. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30.
Hall, 100, died Monday, May 8, 1995, at Cape Girardeau Nursing Center.
She was born Sept. 1, 1894, at Oran, daughter of the Rev. N.D. and Martha Jane Sanders Maddox. She and Newton Edwin Hall were married Aug. 10, 1920. He preceded her in death.
Hall was a cook with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. in St. Louis, retiring in 1950. She was the oldest living member of First Baptist Church in Oran. She was also a member of St. Louis Telephone Pioneers, and Morley Chapter 342 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two grandchildren, D.H. "Duke" Perry of Oran, Carol Walker of Orland Park, Ill.; 10 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren, and a great-great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, seven brothers and six sisters.
