McCLURE, Ill. -- Ella Mae Matlock, 90, of McClure died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
She was born Oct. 12, 1908, in Alexander County, daughter of Joseph and Mary LaPlante Rudluff. She and James Matlock were married April 7, 1923, in McClure. He died Oct. 14, 1972.
Matlock was a lifelong resident of McClure, and was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Gary Matlock of Gordonville, Mo., James Matlock of Reno, Pa., Robert Matlock of Fresno, Calif.; five daughters, Sue Clingingsmith of Sedgewickville, Mo., JoAnn Harris of Kell, Louise Ring of LeClaire, Iowa, Elsie Durham of East Cape Girardeau, Rose Durham of Cape Girardeau; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sons, a daughter, five brothers, and three sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel in Cape Girardeau from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Raymond Oxford officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery.
