INDEPENDENCE, Kan. -- Ella Anna Lange, 100, died Friday, March 25, 2005, at the Glenwood Estate Nursing Home in Independence.
She was born July 14, 1904, at Odell, Neb., daughter of John and Sophia Oldenburg Goosman. She and George Henry Peter Lange were married Feb. 2, 1926. He died April 23, 1985.
Prior to marriage Lange did domestic work in the Independence area. She helped her husband in his auction work and in the operation of the Community Sale Barn in Independence. Lange was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Dorcas Society of the church and served on the assistance committee for several years. She was also a member of the Daisy Embroidery Club.
Survivors include a sister, Leona Bellman of Altenburg, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Monday at Potts Chapel in Independence.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Ron Oldenettel officiating. Burial will be in Lutheran Cemetery at Independence.
