Ella Dowd

CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Ella Nora Dowd, 88 of Chaffee died Friday, Aug. 3, 2018, at Chaffee Nursing Center.

She was born Nov. 5, 1929, in Cape Girardeau to Aaron and Julia LaVerne Ryker Culbertson. She married Ronald Eugene Dowd on Nov. 26, 1947. He preceded her in death Jan. 23, 1995.

She had worked for Cape Central Airways for 18 years and was owner/operator of Castaways for 20 years. She was a member of First Christian Church in Chaffee.

She is survived by a daughter, Gayle (Jack) Dragoni of Chaffee; a sister, Nancy (Bob) Cook of Sedgwickville, Missouri; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Dowd; a grandson, Justin Dragoni; a brother, Aaron Culbertson; and two sisters, Nellie Robinson and Julia Gregory.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee.

Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
