Elizabeth Ann "Liz" Grimes, 72, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at her home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Guy V. and Thelma Dillingham Rose.
She and Monroe "Montey" Grimes were married May 4, 1974, at Cape Girardeau. He survives.
Liz was a teacher's aide at St. Vincent de Paul Grade School and Deer Creek Christian Academy.
She was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and Cape Girardeau Women's Bowling Association. She was an avid golfer and member of Cape Chipaways.
Survivors include her husband, Monroe "Montey" Grimes of Cape Girardeau; two sons, Jeffery Lynn (Valerie) Grimes of Byrnes Mills, Mo., Mark Jason (Misty) Grimes of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Jerry (Lois) Rose of Jackson; four grandchildren, Matthew, Phillip, Kolby and Brynnan Grimes.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister.
Friends may call 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. David Hulshof officiating.
Entombment will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Capital Campaign Fund.
