Elizabeth J. "Betty" Elliott, 77, of Burnt Prairie, Ill., passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. She was born April 11, 1927, in Carmi, Ill., daughter of Enola Gabel. She and Ivan Elliott were married Oct. 15, 1949...

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Elliott, 77, of Burnt Prairie, Ill., passed away Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

She was born April 11, 1927, in Carmi, Ill., daughter of Enola Gabel. She and Ivan Elliott were married Oct. 15, 1949.

Mrs. Elliott was a homemaker, member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church and Ladies Guild in Carmi, American Legion, VFW Auxiliary, Modern Woodmen, and was a cancer survivor.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Cathy Elliott of Princeton, Ind.; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Lou Hagler of Cape Girardeau; her mother; six grandchildren, Louis and Cheryl Hagler, Sara, Jennifer, Chelsea and Taylor Elliott.

Funeral Mass was held Oct. 18 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church, with the Rev. Steven Rudolph officiating. Burial was in North Maple Ridge Cemetery at Carmi.

Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi was in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Elliott's name to St. Polycarp Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
