ELINOR JORDAN

CAIRO, Ill. -- Elinor Jordan, 87, of Cairo died Wednesday, Nov. 19, 1997, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born Aug. 3, 1910, in Cairo, daughter of Harry and Daisy Hodge Dilts. She married Joe H. Jordan, who died in 1979.

Jordan received bachelor and master degrees from the University of Missouri.

Prior to retiring she was dean of admissions with Houston, Texas, School System. She was a member of the Church of the Redeemer Episcopal Church.

Survivors include a nephew, John Steinhouse of Olive Branch.

There is no visitation.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds. The Rev. Canon Arnold Hoffman will officiate.
