STURDIVANT -- Eletta Watkins Shell, 87, of Sturdivant, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born Jan. 12, 1909, near Zalma, daughter of Leo and Pheba Shirrell Davis. She married Omar Watkins in 1930 in Sturdivant. He died March 15, 1953...

STURDIVANT -- Eletta Watkins Shell, 87, of Sturdivant, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 1996, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Jan. 12, 1909, near Zalma, daughter of Leo and Pheba Shirrell Davis. She married Omar Watkins in 1930 in Sturdivant. He died March 15, 1953.

Shell was a charter member of Bethel General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Lowell Watkins of Jefferson City, Bill Watkins of St. Louis; two daughters, Blenda Bank and Wanda Moore of Bloomfield; two sisters, Opal Gardner of St. Charles, Lola Slaughter of Dexter; 10 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and five sisters.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 4:30-8 p.m. today.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Placher officiating. Burial will be in Cato Cemetery near Zalma.
