MORLEY, Mo. -- Elena M. Peer, 98, of Memphis, Tenn., formerly of Chaffee, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.
She was born Oct. 7, 1903, at Morehouse, Mo., daughter of Adolphus and Ollie Bratton Moseley. She and Armon L. Peer were married Oct. 12, 1922. He died Dec. 3, 1982.
Mrs. Peer was a member of First Baptist Church and former member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter 48, both in Chaffee.
Survivors include a son, Gene Peer of Jacksonville, Fla.; a daughter, Patricia Westland of Memphis; six grandchildren, Pat Fermier, Gene Peer, Stephanie Boyette and Debra Darby, all of Jacksonville, George Westland Jr. of Memphis, and Stuart Westland of Chapel Hill, N.C.
Also surviving are nine great-grandchildren, Allen Westland of Columbia, Tenn., Taryn Randall of Memphis, Darcy, Jessica and Jeremy Westland of Chapel Hill, Katie and Jennifer Garcis and Charlotte Peer of Jacksonville, Marty Panitzke of Savannah, Ga.; two great-great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Bradley Peer of Savannah.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Sunday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Cliff Day officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens near Morley.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or a charity of one's choice.
