PADUCAH, Ky. Eleanor L. Burns, 71, of Paducah and formerly of Cairo, Ill., died Aug. 29, 1993, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
She was born in Cairo on Nov. 20, 1921, the daughter of the late Edgar and Iva Mae Bateman Stephens. She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Cairo and the Lourdes Hospital Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas D. Burns of Paducah; a son, Thomas E. Burns of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Russell Stephens of San Francisco; two grandsons and a niece.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial Mass will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Cairo with the Rev. Fr. Bill McGhee as celebrant.
Graveside committal rites will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
The Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
